Summer here we come!!
by Cindy on May.27, 2011, under Uncategorized
Well it is Friday evening and the start of Memorial Day weekend. I can almost smell the potato salad. The last week of May has a few significant events which apply to our family. Michael has a birthday, we celebrate our anniversary, and my brother in law also has a birthday this week.
It is nice to have a Monday off every now and then, sometimes it’s just nice to putter around the house and not feel like you’re wasting your precious weekend days.
Something new at the studio that I want to mention here is our NEW photo booth. Photo booth may not be the exact right word, but that’s what we are calling it.
It actually is a portable set up with a camera and printer which is programed to take a certain number of shots at a set interval of time between each photo, and then prints are printed out right then for the participates to take with them. The images also can be saved to a disk for editing later for individual prints or printing up in a coffee table book format.
We are excited about our system because with it we are not limited to the standard 2 or 3 people “in the booth” With our system anywhere from 1 to possibly 20 people can participate in the same photo set up.
In a situation like a wedding or birthday party it can be really fun. Somehow I think having a system that is automated like ours is, allows people to relax and have some fun in front of the camera with their friends and they tend not to as get self conscious as they might if there was a real live person taking the photos.
We are working on getting the prices for the photo booth rental up and available on our website, hopefully that will get done in the next week. In the meantime if you are interested please call us at the studio for more information.
Hope you all have a great holiday weekend.

If you have called the studio in the last two to three weeks there is a chance our conversation may have dissolved into what sounded like crinkled up cellophane… Problem is now solved!!!!
Wow, Where have I been?

I can’t believe how long it has been since I posted anything new. My apologies! There is nothing so sad as a “non updated” blog..
Summer has been fairly uneventful with the exception of some unexpected home improvement due to some “plumbing issues” I will leave it at that..
While we are not painting or pulling up tack strip at home we are busy at the studio with our high school senior portrait promotion. It is once again that time of year

Father’s Day is June 21st!

June is the month of Grads and Dads
With most graduations here in Bakersfield happening the last week in May, it is time to look toward the upcoming holiday of Father’s Day.
What to get Dad? another shirt or tie or something else? Why not print the kids in for a portrait. You can dress them in the type of clothes that dad might wear to work, or bring them in dressed up in dads’ favorite sporting gear, baseball, basketball, golf. This works really well for both boys and girls, and Dad will LOVE IT!
Give us a call @ 588-8923 and we can go over some ideas and set up an appointment time .
Graduation is fast approaching!!!
by Cindy on Apr.29, 2009, under Promotions, Uncategorized
Easter has come and gone, it was great fun and lots of wonderful images were created for our clients to enjoy for a lifetime.
Graduation time is fast approaching and as we have done in the past we are offering a fantastic Cap and Gown Special for the month of May.
Session and 40 wallets from 1 pose of your choice for $29.95 if prepaid, $39.95 if not (which is still an outstanding price!)

We also have plenty of soon to be graduates come in to have portraits make before graduation, either because they didn’t have them made at the time the yearbook photos were taken, or because they have changed considerably since their senior yearbook photos were made. In either case we are able to create portraits in late April up to mid May and still have plenty of time to deliver them before graduation.
Below is a link to our portrait pricing, please take a look and seriously compare with other studios in town. The lower prices may even scare you off, but if you understand that we are able to offer lower prices because we are able to print 90% of the work ourselves, I am sure that we put your mind at ease.

Do you do photo classes??……
by Cindy on Mar.11, 2009, under Uncategorized
Yes we do. Michael has taught photography classes in the past at the Junior College level, and also through the Parks and Recreation Department. Just today we received 3 phone calls regarding photo classes, so I suppose this is a good place to put up some basic information. The classes we offer run for 2 weeks at a time, generally on Wednesday or Thursday evenings from 6-9pm. The first week covers basic operation of your camera, and which settings control what effects in your photograph. Then you are given an “assignment” for the following week. The second week goes over the results of your assignment/s and other questions you may have regarding the basic operation of your camera. If you have questions or are interested in attending an upcoming photo class please call 588-8923 and ask for Michael.
Kern County Honor Music Festival
by Cindy on Mar.02, 2009, under Uncategorized
February 28th, we had the pleasure of photographing the 62rd annual Kern County Honor Music Festival. I was very impressed! I had to keep reminding myself that the students performing were 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Being a fan of musical theatre, my favorite selection of the night was “Fiddler on the Roof” Bravo!!

“Now is always best time”
by Cindy on Feb.28, 2009, under Uncategorized
Well, we have been talking about adding a blog to our site for ages, and now I can say we have done the basics to get it up and running. Our hope is the blog will help make our site more interactive with our clients and encourage visitors to check in periodically to see what we our up to in the studio.
A favorite quote of mine;
“When else?, Now is always best time”……….Yul Brynner’s character in “The King & I”
